- GoneCampingExplorerThe KOA in Va Beach allows monthly during the off season, but because it is a tourist destination during the summer months it is daily/weekly only...
- sdianel_-acct_cExplorerWe have stayed at many KOA's that have meters at the sites and do welcome monthly stays. It's not usually listed on their websites however. I would select an area and call some KOA's to see what they say.
- YC_1NomadThe KOA in Kissimmee Florida is a multi year Presidents award park. Huge sites, bar-b-q's and patio furniture on some pads. Long enough for the longest RV's and no meters. We spent 6 weeks there and had it reserved for several months but bought a lake front property to move to. I would stay there again in a second. Superb staff and Matt the manager is one of the best ever. The get tons of monthlys .
- dodge_guyExplorer IIThat's OK! There are more of us that aren't a fan of KOA's!!!

In most states, the rate that can be passed along by a reseller of power highly regulated. RV parks with metered electric fit that definition, so they cannot charge anything more than the state mandated rate, which is usually the same rate as the park is charged by the utility provider plus a relatively small meter reading or billing fee. If you were the manager of a park in a state with regulated power (and I don't know of any that are not, quite frankly) you are committing a crime if you charged a rate above the legally mandated amount.
yes i have paid electric at a koa.i also managed one in colorado and i know what they increase it by thank you - spadoctorExplorerThat WAS the feeling at KOA...but in todays economy things have changed. We are seasonals at a KOA. They now allow aprox 50% seasional sites but do have restrictions the owners must follow. Our park is in the top 10% of all KOA's too. Without seasonals and monthly sites you could not stay in business in many areas in this economy

someone once told me that you didn't have to pay income tax because it was an illegal tax. What I learned from that was; some people say things even when they don't know what they're talking about.
Hey,
Someone once told me that KOA is not a big fan of monthly campers, that they prefer overnight stays and do not like monthly campers to have any real stuff outside like chairs etc - Jim_ShoeExplorerSo "Someone", likely a cousin of "Somebody", told you that KOAs don't like long term campers that sit outside in chairs. More ammunition for the UCKOAH. (United Coalition of KOA Haters). That would mean that KOAs prefer having empty sites generating no income.
I like KOAs. My thanks to the UCKOAH. :) - FLman2Explorer

Count me as another one who has been treated well at many KOA's. Guess some people are never happy with anything. - Mr__CamperExplorerNever had a problem with any KOA not happy with long stays.
