- wbwoodExplorerI think there was only two KOA's that we stayed at that didn't have permanents there. And those two allowed monthly stays.
Now the one in Wilmington nc wants your rig to be 10 yrs old or newer for monthly stays. - jimroachExplorer

So "Someone", likely a cousin of "Somebody", told you that KOAs don't like long term campers that sit outside in chairs. More ammunition for the UCKOAH. (United Coalition of KOA Haters). That would mean that KOAs prefer having empty sites generating no income.
I like KOAs. My thanks to the UCKOAH. :)
They (the UCKOAH (United Coalition of KOA Haters)). do seem to have a big fan club on these forums ;) For my two cents, we are also staying in a KOA for two months in Florida. As many have said, it may depend on the time of year and the location - the_happiestcamExplorer

Someone once told me I was good looking - I realized then that I had walked into the wrong kind of bar. - sp8goldExplorerMy understanding is that it is illegal to up-sale the electric. If you think a park is over charging, call the power company.
- Bob___AnnExplorerIt needs to be remembered that KOA is not a company that owns campgrounds. It is just a concept "Flag Name" that a private owned campground can become a member of for a franchise fee. Yes there are rules they are asked to comply by but there are fantastic locations as well as very poor locations.
- Mr__CamperExplorerActually, KOA Corp. does in fact own a number of campgrounds where they field test things before going out to the other franchise owners.
