Was checking out the KOA website the other night (because we are staying at a few this summer) and noticed that they started publishing user reviews for each campground--and they seem to be totally candid with lots of good and bad reviews. The campground owners can also respond to the comments as well. Makes for interesting reading if you want to really do your homework before booking a trip. Kudos to KOA---a bold move on their part if you ask me. Seems like it would really light a fire under a campground owners butt if they were getting bad reviews--which is probably a big motivation behind the user reviews.

The KOA CEO was on Undercover Boss awhile ago. May be the result of that. Good for him!

I Think It's a good move for KOA...and having the owners being able to respond to the reviews provides some checks and balances for people that just want to flame the campgrounds...now on the opposite side lets hope the reviews don't turn out sounding like advertisments... ;)Mike

Wow, good to know. I just checked to see if the negative comment I had left them for their Cheyenne, WY KOA was there, as sure enough, it is. They also responded to my negative comment.

Yup--seems like they are posting all comments good and bad.

KOA is now posting guest reviews, good and bad.

I hate using this overworked term of "proactive" but that is what it is and, I feel, an excellent marketing move (spent my career in marketing). I have not done it yet but hope the above stated controls are in place so as to only get people who have actually been there.

We are not heading out until just after Labor Day (to once again enjoy fall colors in CO & UT) and will be staying part of the trip (5 times) at KOA's. We use them - knowing we are paying for things we don't use in many cases) - about 50% of our time out. Only one kinda marginal experience in 16 years RV'ing about 3 or so months a year.

I always get an email asking us to rate our stay. I'm glad to see this and think KOA is doing it right.

Do they have your Email address? I am a member and I got a E mail from them asking for a review from all the ones that I stayed at on a recent 2 week trip.

Maybe check your spam folder or you may have deleted it by mistake.

Oh BTW they published all of mine. I think it is a positive move.
