But this thread evolved into lying about your rig length to get a long site, and I think that is 100% wrong. Being dishonest and then expecting honesty is crazy. And I am not sure where you get that all campground owners barely eek out a living. I pound out a dang nice living $50.00+ a site a night. I never cheat anyone and am offended if someone thinks I am a crook. I deliver what I promise and often more. But lumping all campgrounds and their owners together and believing they are all dishonest does an incredible dis-service to the 90+% that do things the right way.
OP said he paid for a long site, and got a 'forced refund' and a shorter site ...
He wanted and reserved a site he would not have to unhook, so who's the liar and scammer here, not the OP, but the campground owner that switched his site. Don't say CGO didn't know it, he pre-charged the camper for a long site, THEN switched him out for another one. CGO knew it ...
But of course CGO are never cheats or crooks, and just barely eek out a living, even when the evidence sits right there ... only us campers. Course, the mistake we make is believing the CGO in the first place, and the voice that bends the truth.
