Agreed, always good to beware of your surroundings. Gypsy, this campground is right off of Hwy 19 approx. 3 or 4 miles north of Altoona. It had a camp host, and a entrance / exit building (unoccupied) while I was there.
I've been told of the "woods people" and I've read some stories of them. I picked up a Jeep last year and my dog and I have driven the Forrest roads numerous times, and have yet to "meet" any problem people. That's a vast area of isolation out there and I don't think I would camp alone in any isolated areas. I need hookups......AC / Heat.....haha.
However, there are some beautiful areas to be explored, and I refuse to allow a few knuckle heads to interfer with my Jeep rides!
