Lake Erie camp grounds in Ohio

We are going to Ohio the 1st week of October for a wedding and a reunion. I was hoping someone could recommend a state park close to Lake Erie. The state park website list quite a few. Location to a particular city doesn't matter. we want 30 amp service, water would be nice but not absolutely necessary. Beautiful scenery is a must! Thanks Bob

  • You might want to check out Camp Perry (west of Port Clinton) a National Guard Facility open to the public...4 years they didn't permit pets....rest of the descripton was great.
  • We were at Geneva State Park during Memorial Day and will be back for the Labor Day weekend. Had a great time on the bike trail and caught my biggest walleye to date on that trip.
  • Cedar point if you also want to do an amusement park.there campgrounds is very well kept.
  • well geneva is as close as it gets ,its a walk across the street ,very nice are and has all you ask for.

Without more details, it's hard to tell where you're looking. But we've been to Geneva--on-the-lake (Geneva State Park) North-East corner of the state, between Cleveland and the Penn-Ohio boarder and absolutely loved it. The town is awesome too.
