There are a number of Corps of Engineer parks in AL with water front sites. One that is especially nice is Foscue Park near Demopolis. There are sites with hookups right on the river and other sites slightly away from river, but overlooking the water.
Other options are the COE parks on Lake Walter F George (Lake Eufaula) near Eufaula. There are a couple of state parks both in Alabama and Georgia on either side of the lake. Some have water front sites and some are just a quick walk to the water. One of my Favorite is Florence Marina State Park in GA. It has full hookups including cable, an easy walk to campground only pier, an additional fishing pier with lights, a large boat ramp and huge marina with some BIG boats in it. Now be warned this park is miles from anywhere, so you need to carry everything you need. Other than the camp store, the closest store that is more than the camp store is over 30 miles away. You will find folks that are serious about fishing in this park and those that just like to get away.
