Hi. Hubby and I live on the Eastern Shore of Mobile, Alabama & am looking for a lakefront campground (lake not Gulf) within a 3-5 hour drive from home. Any suggestions in Alabama, Mississippi, or Georgia? We are looking for a campground with sites right on the water where we can fish from our site. Thank you!!!

If you're willing to travel a bit to the north end of the state, there's lots of good areas around Guntersville and Scottsboro.

You didn't mention New Orleans, but Pontchartrain landing has spots on lake Pontchartrain.

Did a search with TripAdvisor.com and found River Country Campground in Gadsen, AL north of you. The sites on the river are only $2 more per night according to one reviewer. It received good ratings.
