Lakeside RV Park (and Casino), Pahrump NV

Had heard for years, saw lots of advertisements all of which looked pretty good, that this was a great, albeit off the beaten path, RV Park. I am here to tell you all it is true! We stopped there yesterday on our way back to Tucson from northern California driving down from Tonopah NV( which is a hole, but that will be another post).

Lakeside is one of, if not the nicest parks we have ever visited. The staff from top to bottom were friendly, extremely professional and competent. They have 157 sites spread around a very heavily, nicely treed 7 acre lake. The smallish Casino, no table games just electronic games of chance, is very nice and the buffet was awesome.

They are recovering from some hard, lean times and were almost lost to bankruptcy but the new management has really stepped up and the improvements continue on a daily basis. Our Passport America card
got us a lovely lakefront/beachfront site for $24.99. Their infrastructure is impeccable, immaculate facilities and we cannot wait
to return for much more than just a single transient night (and yes I will be posting to the Rv Park Reviews site).
:B
  • Glad to hear there have been improvements. We stayed there in 2011 and the park had serious maintenance issues. There were large chunks of plaster that were missing in the pool and pool deck, bathrooms were not clean and they had ants by the millions. There was an overhead branch that barely touched our 5'r, the ants came in that way. The office staff could have cared less. We stayed 3 days on Passport America and inquired about a weekly stay. They quoted us a price, then changed their minds. The best thing was the casino food and cheap prices.
  • We stopped there in March for an overnighter and stayed for several days. Definitely on our keeper list.

I agree with you on Tonopah.
  • I agree with both assessments of this rv park. We were there two days and nights in June of this year. The buffet was inexpensive and the food was great. The casino is small and nice and quiet, not like Vegas. I thought they had made a mistake in the price. Sites along the lake shore are great, but they do get quite a few mosquitoes in the summer heat. There is a Chevron gas station next door with a small, but well equipped store. I can't wait to go back there, but this time we will do so when it is not so hot.
  • Our experience was similar back in '09 when it was still Terrible's Lakeside Casino & RV Park. We hope to return someday, and stay longer!
