Land between the lakes

Looking to stay inside the park. Since we will be there 3 or 4 days I do want full hookups for a 29 foot TT. Once we get there we will make it our base camp and drive from there. Sounds like Energy Lake CG has power hookups only? Any suggestions would be helpfull.

We have always wanted to stay at the Land Between the Lakes but it is too close to our final destination of Southern Illinois... We always end up at Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park on Rend Lake which has lots of choices around the Lake to stay at...

Looks like LBL has lots of different camp sites to chose from. Lots of info on-line about it... I see Buffalo roams there as well...

  • X2 on Canal COE in Grand Rivers. There are a few full hookup sites, most have water and electric. There is a dump station.

We stayed at Hillman Ferry a few years ago. Large sites, wooded setting, FHU . Nice place.
  • There are some full hookup sites in Piney Campground within LBL. Look for the Dogwood Loop. Sites can be reserved 6 months in advance I believe.
  • Piney is a great campground. There are full hookups but most only electricity, water is fairly close to most sites so its not much of a problem.
Piney is on the south side of the park if that makes any difference.
We will be there in March.
  • How close is the canal CG to the rest of the things to do? We will be going in April.
  • Hillman Ferry, Campsite #T-5 if you like privacy, it is a full hookup site. We had our 31 ft. 5th wheel on it and had lots of room.

Its exactly 30 minutes to Golden Pond which is kind of the central area of LBL. I think its even called Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.

Right near Canal is Patties Settlement. Little touristy area with a good restaurant. Patties Settelment
