Large Family Campground

We have spent hours combing this site and others and are still coming up empty.

Looking for campground recommendations. We have a family of 8 so we are looking for a campground with the following:

1) Local to Midwest (WI, IL, IN, MO, MI)
2) LOTS of amenities to keep children occupied. (I have a wild bunch)
3) Looking more for a resort than a State Park.
4) Area attractions would be a nice bonus.

Anyone have a favorite out there?
  • Ahhhh.... I remember those days when everything had to be constant activity and my 2 kids wore us out completely! Glad we can now just vegetate around a campfire and take napes, sit back and watch everyone else chase their kids around the campground, laughing at all their insanity!

You must still be young and have ENERGY left. So, how about Indiana Beach, Monticello, Indiana or Santa Clause, Indiana? (Holiday World and Splashin Safari)?
  • Here's a campground that we fell in love with but were only able to stay for the night due to family commitments. It's definitely a family campground and very large. It's on our bucket list to go back to. Southern part of MI.

  • How about Wisconsin Dells?

We have been to the dells many times.

Is there a particular CG that you like?
  • Jellystone Yogi Bear in Fremont Indiana.
There is almost nothing in the area, but it was my kids' favorite campground. 4 pools, 3 water slides, bumper boats, golf carts, putt-putt, water balloon wars, fishing lake, beach, bridge, kid activities. Plus they're adding on a water slide gym.
It's close to the expressway and surrounded by corn fields, but was SO MUCH FUN!!
