http://parks.nv.gov/parks/spring-mountain-ranch - Kentucky__JoExplorerWhat cg do you recommend staying at? Is there parking or some other type of transportation to use to get around? I would like to see Cirque and Blue Man. We plan on going to Hoover. What casinos are most interesting to see? Not sure my husband will be able to walk the whole strip. Thanks for all the info. We plan to be in that area in later Sept.
- Matt_ColieExplorer III know you are not kidding because I felt the same way for years.
Go to Las Vegas the first time on a Sunday to Thursday excursion. When you get roped into a timeshare sales pitch, collect the free stuff and leave. If you decide you do want a timeshare, DO NOT buy from the developer, get it on E-bay for near nothing. Be sure you know where it is before you even consider it.
Now,
Then walk the strip and see the sights. These are all free. The pirate battle used to be better.
Don't miss Fremont Street at night. This is where the strip used to be and the experience is real.
When you get tired, get into one of the lounge shows you got free tickets to see. If you really want a memory, get tickets to any Circ show. None are cheap, but you will be astounded by most of them.
If you have a car, go out to Red Rock Canyon and drive the loop (twice) and see the museum. If you are a book person, look up the used book stores. People move out there and then the kids don't want to ship the library home so these stores are loaded with neat stuff.
We used to do a Vegas week every year, but alas we had to move on.

Look over towards Lake Powell - Vegas is the Capital of Gambling and Buffets - so .............Also could catch a show, but other than that don't think it will Offer YOU much. - fitznjExplorerWe don't gamble but do enjoy LV for 2 or 3 days. We start at one end and walk the whole length of the Strip, down one side and up the other. LV is about people watching.. there are some interesting characters walking around.
Then in the evening you can enjoy the out side displays/shows. Spend 20 mins walking through each casino and enjoy the "theme" - The Venetian" is my fav.
Grab a show at night - Cirque Du Soleil, Blue Man Group......
LV is a spectacle - enjoy it for that.
Then head out to the desert, rent an ATV, Razor- Valley of Fire is amazing. - MarkTwainExplorer

Just curious, given your preferences and interests, why brother going to Las Vegas especially if you are going in the summer months!!!! - ROBERTSUNRUSExplorer:) Hi, Imperial Palace has a great car museum.
- hotjag1Explorer IIDefinitely take a drive out to Hoover Dam. Also drive down to the marina at Lake Mead and have lunch on the water and see how far down the lake level is now from years of drought.
- Kentucky__JoExplorerNot offended, just don't enjoy!
- valhalla360NavigatorAre you offended by gambling or just don't gamble? If you are offended...yeah not much you can do and completely avoid it. Otherwise:
Just wandering the casinos is interesting.
Lots of shows.
A day trip out to the dam is fun.
Lots of stuff.
