Las Vegas RV Park

We are thinking of stopping in Las Vegas the last three days in April on our way to Grand Canyon. I was looking up parks in the area and wanted some opinions on witch park, I was thinking KOA Sams Town??????? I did read the reviews Ect. but wanted some thoughts from here.
  • Drove thru Circus Circus RV Park today. Seems to be operating very well with some new hook-ups to replace some old ones, although down sized from before. They took quite a few sites away when they put up a chain link fence with screening on it to block views I assume when there is an event going on inside the fence. They did say they were shutting it down in the newspaper, then later amended that saying there could be some room for some sites. I wonder if the downsizing caused KOA to jump ship or a way for Circus Circus to send KOA down the road?

Circus Circus has closed the RV park, that is why KOA is now at Sam's Town doing their thing.

I stayed at the Circus Circus in early March of this year and liked it because its right in the middle of the strip.

    Has it closed since then?
  • No, they said they were shutting down last year to build some venue for concerts. Well it looks like they did build the venue and took some sites from the original RV park. But what you saw is way downsized from what it was. Open and up and running without KOA, a big plus!
  • Las Vegas RV Resort (not LVM Resort) is a couple blocks north of Sams Town and is less money and much better (rated 10-10-10).
  • I have also recently stayed at the Circus Circus RV park. Circus Circus actually runs the place now. It's safe and just fine for a few nights. Basically a very large parking lot behind the out dated and slightly sleazy Circus Circus casino. Clean bathrooms, a pool, a nice little dog run area and it is located at the very ugly end of the strip. It's a long walk on the strip or a short bus ride to the start of the action on the strip. The only real positive is the location. The only real negative is ...the location. ;)
