Leaving house with septic system over winter
A question for those who live on acreages with septic system in Cold Areas.... We are just going to move onto an acreage and am wondering if my system will freeze up. My son will be staying there...

Thanks for all the advice. Doesn't sound like I will have too many problems. Had a home inspection done yesterday, and the septic tank is tucked in close to the house with some fencing located so that the snow should build up nicely over top. The field seems to be nicely sloped downward so the lines will drain after the punp out stops. I am thinking I might install a snow fence so that the snow builds up on the field nicely and is not blown off.
