Leaving house with septic system over winter
A question for those who live on acreages with septic system in Cold Areas.... We are just going to move onto an acreage and am wondering if my system will freeze up. My son will be staying there...

OK.... in Cold Lake septic systems will freeze. You don't tell us your design, so I have to guess. You do seem to have a pump in the system.
The tank itself should be well underground, the leach field not so much. Check with the neighbours. I bet they put flax straw over the leach field.
Don't drive, ski doo or walk over the field or it's pipes in winter.
Better to use too much straw then not enough.
