FWIW, I pull my rig inland about 50 miles from the coast to store it for the summers. This gets it out of the main hurricane area, and all of the salt damage. I would hate to leave a rig anywhere near the Gulf coast and Laguna Madre long term. The salt damage would be just too much for me to keep up to.
We're in the deep south Texas area, maybe Rockport is different when it comes to storing a rig. I do know when we spent a month there, it was always foggy till about 11am, and was about 5-10 degrees cooler.
All of the information I got has been learnt from others in the deep south area of Texas and works extremely well for us. I would ask around your campground to see what others do in the Rockport area. Happy Hour is a great place to learn stuff from those that have been coming to the area long term :)
