Leaving Trailer In South TX for the Summer

We are in Rockport, TX for the winter and plan on heading north in the next couple of weeks. We plan on leaving our trailer here and returning late summer.

We are concerned about the humidty in the trailer while it is closed up (plan on leaving the vents cracked). What do other winter texans do when leaving the trailer closed up for months to combat the humidty???

  • This park requires that trailers be tied down with mobile home anchors and all power is disconnected. Never heard of a problem that was not hurricane related.
  • Most just turn everything off and leave. We have done that the past 10 years with our park model with no major problems. Texas will have far less humidity than Florida. You could be asking for a lot of dust if you leave the vents open.
  • Some church friends leave there fiver parked in Texas during the summer months, never heard them say that they leave the AC on. Will have to ask, but they are still down in Texas.
  • Only thing I know to do is leave the AC on, set on as high a temperature as it will go to. Same situation here in North Carolina, there's no way I would leave my camper parked all summer outdoors without AC running.
  • Will it be connected to power? Anyone close by you trust to watch it?
  • Leave the a/c set at 76 degrees?

Happy camping!!! See y'all down the road!!!:)
