Mar 05, 2017If I remember correctly, this bill has been in the works for several years now. It would permit an 8th month stay from an immigration perspective. Unfortunately it is disconnected from the IRS who will levy income tax beyond 180 days or sooner depending upon your 8840 Form declaration.
Also it does not change the time permitted out of Canada from a benefits perspective which is different from province to province.
