We stayed at Willowtree too and liked it. But we also stayed at Huntington Beach State Park which seems to have everything you want. Lots of seperation between most sites. Short walk to the beach. Some FHU, the rest water and electric. They also have a great nature program with walks and talks on the beach or in the nature lodge. There is an old house which was the residence of the original owners which is open for tours. You are right down the road from Murrel's Inlet where they have some good restaurants. But if you want a completely different location, Pipestem State Resort Park in Southern West Virginia has it all. Nice campground, plus ahotel and a lodge. Indoor and outdoor swimming, gold horseback riding, 2 restaurants, archery, nature walks, tennis and more. http://www.pipestemresort.com/
Thank You!
We actually went to this park to walk the beach. The issue is no swimming pool. I know there is the ocean but my weakness from the strokes makes it difficult to swim in the ocean and deal with the waves. I can't really go in anymore than my knees and even then due to poor balance risk getting knocked down.
Other than that issue it is a beautiful park and would stay there if it had a pool.
