looking for campground SW of Atlanta

Question

my friends and I want to run tough mudder Atlanta next fall. It is in Fairburn Georgia so I am looking for a campground to accommodate us there or within reasonable distance. 5-8 guys and probably 2 sites. Combo of RV and tent campers. We will be exhausted and dirty so amenities aren't important, but full hookups or nice on site showers would be a plus. Thanks in advance.

It is south tho not very west, right off I-75. But High Falls State Park is excellent. There are a number of other state parks on the other side of 75 and they like every other GA state park that we have stayed in are also very good.

Not a whole lot near Fairburn since it's just a skip from the massive Atlanta airport and under their flight paths.

The closest campgrounds to Fairburn appear to be in Whitesburg. Here's the Allstays.com link to them

Chattahoochee Bend State Park in Stockbridge is a thirty five minute drive from Fairburn but has what you've asked for.

I live in Newnan, and there is not much that would be close. Chattahoochee Bend is OK, but is a long way from Fairburn. Stone Mountain would probably be an easier drive.

Have you checked with the organizer to see if you could camp on site?? Probably wouldn't have power, but in Oct, temps should be nice.
