The South Fork, Creede, Lake City area is a beautiful area. And at 8,500' and higher you will not have to worry about heat, except maybe getting some in the morning chill, even in August. Each town has some full service RV parks that get good reviews on rvparkreviews.com. We typically stay outside of South Fork, but Creede and Lake City would be good choices also. Each area has its own attractions, so a little googling would be worthwhile.
