My son lives in Arvada so I have stayed at his place and explored that area a little. I know there is a park on 44th near Ward rd. I have only driven by it on my way AAA propane.

I have also checked out a place at hwy 6 and 40 that is near Green Mountain park but it was pricey. The area is nice but you have to explore and stay out a ways. My son first rented a house very close to Green Mountain and that area was good but as you go closer to downtown and near the city hall area it gets tacky. The Red Rocks amphitheater is very nice and can be visited for free with out going to a concert.
Downtown Golden is cool with good pizza at Woodys and of course dont miss the tour at Coors beer.
It's a short drive and you are out in the mountains around Evergreen. The housing is outrageous so the rents may be sort of high even at RV parks. A lot of people are moving there for some reason ;) There are a lot of bike paths and parks. We will be visiting him again in September.
We were there last November to help my son do some remodeling and I ended up going to physical therapy so we stayed until Dec 5. It was nice at first but ended up setting some record lows. We were burning 30 pounds of propane a day at times and usually getting 2 days out of a tank and running an electric heater too.
My son and DIL are big on Jeeeping but I haven't been out with them yet in that area. They have been to Moab several times and we did several trails with them years ago when I had a built Cherokee. That trip started at Colorado springs, Taylor Park, Almont, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Tin Cup, St Elmo, Ouray, Silverton, Crested Butte and Teluride. Oh yeah, Pikes Peak too.
