Well, to be fair, private RV parks are in existence to make money, just like all other businesses. Maybe some businesses do a little better job of hiding it from those of us they're trying to take money from.
But Colorado state parks have a 2-week limit, so they're not available for settling down, as you mentioned in your first post. And their "camping fee" is a little disingenuous because you also have to pay the daily entrance fee for vehicles on top of that. At least they stopped making you pay TWO vehicle entrance fees for motorhomes with a toad (but only one for truck pulling a trailer)--talk about feeling like nothing but a wallet.
