Looking for Shreveport LA campground

Can anyone suggest campgrounds close to Shreveport? Need 2 nights the end of Jan. Looked at Lake Bistineau SP, not exactly close and it looks like no camping till Feb. Also checked Caddo Lake SP in TX, part of it is open although there are no showers due to construction. I can do the KOA if no one has another idea, the KOA is right next to the highway and our camper isn't very soundproof.

We're non military.
  • For in town KOA is probably your best bet, if you want to consider 20-30 miles out of town then I might offer some suggestions.
  • We stayed at that KOA a couple of years ago. I really didn't notice the noise.
  • One of the casinos has a nice little campground. Diamond Jacks in Shreveport. Also near Benton La is Cypress Black lake and the parish (think county) has a large campground on the lake. This is only a about 6-8 miles from Shreveport.

I agree about the Shreveport KOA. It is some distance away from I-20 with woods between the site and the highway. You can hear the highway off in the distance when you are outside, but I do not remember it being a problem.

I saw Cypress-Black Bayou Park after my OP, I take it it is decent? Never tried a casino.

Between these and the KOA I'll be good.

    Thanks Folks
