Lost Maple Sate Park in TX

We are going camping in Lost Maple Sate Park in TX next week. Do they have Wi-Fi or is there a good phone signal? I check their website, it does not say anything.

I know it supposed to be camping, but my job requires me to be in contact and be ready to work. :(

I assume you have a reservation. They are pretty full this time of year. On weekend days during this season the cars can line up for over a mile on the highway to get into the park. There's no cell service that I've ever observed, and I've been there over the years with both ATT and Verizon service.

We just canceled it. We wanted to go there to see the foliage, but there will none this year due weather. Also, it is expected to rain Sunday - Tuesday. We will use the funds that we used to make reservation to go to a different state park in south Texas in December.

We plan to try it again next year.

  • We stayed there a year ago and there was almost no reception from anything, wifi, cell, even normal am/fm radio. You are a distance from anything major and located in a valley, so I would not count on getting much. Those that had satellite did get reception.
  • like most texas state parks, if they do have wifi, it will be spotty. Your best bet for a signal is being close to a main bathroom/shower where the repeaters are
  • They have limited wi-fi at the office only and only when it's staffed. Very poor reception doesn't work 90% of the time. There is no cell service as the campground is in Hill country and located in a hollow. Very pretty, good trails to walk, hike, run, bike, this is an old fashion campground where you go to camp and be away from it all.
  • I have been by it but have not stayed there. It is in a pretty remote area. And since they do not have full hookups (WE only for $20) I very much doubt they have wifi. And even cell signal may be weak there.

    I would call and ask.
  • Call the Wildlife Resources/State Park office and ask. They may be able to give you some insight. Doubt there is Wi-Fi in a state park. You could always pick up a portable hotspot or jump off your phone if you have service.
