- Opie431ExplorerI did not pay enough attention but if you go thru the gorge there is a campground 3/4 of the way thru, if you take the Littlefield exit just before the gorge there are places where I have seen people boondocking. Between Valley of Fire and Mesquite I have seen several places where people are boondocking. And because I have not paid enough attention I am not sure which of the exits you take for any of them.
We spend three months in the area every winter. - Hobo2ExplorerThanks nice place and nice people. Lot of people there 4 wheeling some nice stuff.

HA! That's nothin'. I left St. George and stayed overnight at the Virgin River Gorge Campground ($8 - AZ) on my way to Overton, NV
I'll turn in my RV dot Net High Miler card right way.
Being boondockers, VRG is one of few CGs we EVER stay at. Beautiful and well worth the $8! We pulled in once in August (I think) and it was 112 degrees. No one else there and we asked the camp host if we could run the gennie overnight for the A/C. She looked around and said that we'd be crazy not to, she would be. ;)
LS - PawPaw_n_GramExplorerI'm still mad the wife said stopping at Virgin River Gorge was too short a drive on the way from Zion to Valley of Fire SP.

Take a drive up the NW side with the little man!
In the Google Earth photo you can see trucks off to the side. - rv2goExplorer III-15, exit 75, Valley of Fire Hwy. There is parking across the road at the Moapa Paiute Travel Plaza.
If time permits, I would suggest going on to the Valley of Fire State Park.
After visiting the park, continue on to 169 and take that back to I-15. - Hobo2ExplorerI googled the black rock and it looks like what we're looking for. Thanks we're leaving Palm creek RV resort early and don't want to check in at Temple view RV until next mourning. We are still pulling price tags off stuff. We are fairly new to full-time RV LIFE STYLE. In the Google Earth photo you can see trucks off to the side.
Thanks again - ppineExplorer IIIRed Rocks and Valley of Fire.
