Not true. No state employees were laid off so where's the savings? The state employees enjoyed interacting with would-be visitors to our state, maybe giving them a heads-up on what to see, where to go to the best local mom-and-pop restaurants, etc. We enjoy eating, talking, and helping folks...and we do it for free, especially if we work at the agency that handles this for the public. This made absolutely no sense.
