Louisiana wetlands drives

We're thinking about taking a short trip to Louisiana...looking at Abita Springs, which looks like a nice small town. We mostly just want to relax and take some drives. I'd love to take a swamp tour, although we're not sure about group activities just yet. But we would like to see some of the scenery.

Any suggestions or recommendations on scenery or drives will be appreciated. Thanks

  • I agree with staying around Breaux Bridge we like Poches Fish and Camp but there are several nice campgrounds. Can’t miss New Iberia Shadows on the Teche, Tabasco Factory and lots of places to eat. God prices too. Try Prejeans.

We have done NOLA many times but probably won’t go back anymore.
  • Look at the area around Breaux Bridge and New Orleans. Breaux Bridge has a lot of Cajun history, Lake Martin is great to drive around, and swamp tours. Its a smaller town and the people are awesome. New Orleans has a lot of plantations you can tour, battle of New Orleans tour, downtown, aquarium, and of course, Cafe Dumond.
