Loveland, CO

Looking for a campground between Loveland and Estes Park for 1 night. I noticed several County campgrounds in the Carter Lake Area. I will be arriving midweek in early August. Will be camping in a small 17' trailer. Because of schedule uncertainty I would prefer not to make reservations.

Any suggestions?
  • We stayed at the Loveland RV resort last year. It was decent, bathrooms/showers were at best average, but a lot of the lots are long-term, so it seemed a little more run-down than most. Would not stay there again.

Johnsons Corner RV resort is really nice, and they have cinammon rolls. Only reason we stayed at the Loveland RV resort is because the Johnsons Corner was full.
  • About the only RV Park in Loveland is the Loveland RV Park. We stayed there last year. It met our needs with lots of trees and shade but some of the sites are pretty tight; our neighbors could watch our TV when our blinds were open. But we were only there to sleep so the blinds remained closed! The staff were all helpful and friendly. We did make reservations but not sure we needed them. This year we are staying in St.Vrain State Park which is right off I-25 in Longmont. It's about 25 min drive from there to Loveland.
Forgot to add: St Vrain is large park and does have FHU if needed.
