Lower Florida Gulf Coast

Have a 2 week trip in July where we are going to the keys for the better part of a week. Heading down the Atlantic coast. Spending one night along the way. Not sure exactly where. Somewhere below St Augustine, but above Miami. Not sure if we will find a park or find a place to park overnight. Not so much worried about that part of the trip. We have reservations at Curry Hammock for 4 nights. Might go a little further in towards Key West and stay at a private park a couple nights. We will be heading back up the gulf side, back up to a destination in Georgia. Would like to hit some oceanside parks or those that are close to the water. Don't want to go inland. Red Coconut in Fort Myers is a possibility.

Anyone have any good locations they would share?

A possibility between St. Augustine and Miami is Jonathan Dickinson State Park in Hobe Sound. You'll like Curry Hammock ( at least we do). If you want to get closer to KW, BluewaterKey at mile marker 14.5 is very nice. Closer in , on Stock Island is Boyd's and ElMar... you can easily bicycle to Duval from either one.
Red Coconut and San Carlos are both good places at Ft. Myers Beach. Another place right on the beach is Turtle Beach CG in Sarasota. Another place we like is Venice Resort ( CG) on the Myakka river
  • San Carlos rv park in ft Meyers has many sites on the water though not the ocean.

Sebastian Inlet State Park. Nice park, many sites on the water, has a long fishing pier, on the Treasure Coast south of St Augustine and north of Miami.
