Finding Fall color is always a hit or miss game for us. We are in the Upper Peninsula (UP) of Michigan now and some of the maple and birch trees are changing color even though the temps have been warmer than average. We have traveled in Maine and New England but left before there was much color due to problem of finding RV parks that are open. Same issue in UP but I would recommend heading here from Louisiana -- might be a little closer. Again check for park openings. For the Northern Lights, check the Univ of Alaska for forecast. We tried about 3 weeks ago in Munising, MI when the forecast was about as good as it gets for Sept.--no luck but great star watching with no moon.
