We stayed at Nolin Lake State Park

It was a clean, smaller state park not too far from Mammoth Cave. You have to cross the free car ferry across the river to get to the cave. Or, at least we did, which is a shorter drive to the cave.

Why not stay in the park itself for the best experience? Do you really need hookups?

There is the Yogi at Mammoth cave about 2 miles west on KY 90 and just a stone throw from the National Park. A bit pricey but very nice amenities and the Restroom and showers are spotless. I use to work there and the owners; Kay and Bill Pott and their personnel make it a pleasant stay. Yes; you could say I am a public relations guy> LOL!

We stayed at the KOA (http://koa.com/campgrounds/horse-cave/). Extremely clean and very friendly staff. Would stay there again!

We stayed at Cave Country, also. We like it very much.

Stayed in the NP campground some years ago. I thought it was pretty nice.

On a later trip, couldn't get in there and stayed at a commercial RV park just outside. More of a parking lot, but it served its purpose.

The Park has a nice campground if you can do dry camping. There is a dump station and potable water. A 10 minute shower costs $2.00.

We stayed at Cave Country RV Park in Cave City KY. 5.7 miles from Mammoth Cave. Easy access.

We stayed at Dog Creek COE campground, it was excellent and cheap

You get into the park by taking the free ferry, more or less like a back dooor to the park. There are no stores or other amenities close to the CG tho.
