Medford Oregon, can I camp at Veterans Memorial Park?

On Hwy 99 in Medford, next to the Super Walmart.
I see electrical hookups in the parking lot and have seen RVs parked there.
Can I stay there?
Who do I talk to?
I am not a Vet, can I still stay there?
Electricity is all I need, for a day or two.
I have a small Class C.
What does it cost?
Thanks
  • Valley of the Rogue has electrical power, and a nice walking trail next to the river.
  • Again thanks.
I went by the Medford Armory, and signs said no overniting.
Didn't even say anything about it being a Veterans Memorial Park.
So when I did originally did the search via google, it was wrong about a Veterans Memorial Park even being there.

Ended up staying at Valley of the Rogue.
WOW.... what a nice place to stay.
    $24 full, $22 no sewer.
Free showers. Water was pretty hot.
Nice, nice, nice. I highly recommend it.
Thanks for the heads up !!
  • Thanks everyone.
No, no medical services. Just a trip.
Good to know about RV spots for medical services.
I may stay at the other Walmart, near Costco. I see campers there.

Also want to try the Valley of the Rogue State Park.
    Thanks for suggestion.
  • Steve,
don't know what you are coming to Medford for ? if it is for medical services and at one of the hospitals they have RV spots for patients, give them a call.
  • Just north of Medford is the ,Valley of the Rogue State Park.

    Try there.
  • The locals called that Arboretum Park when I was a kid. It's owned by the City of Medford. Name was changed some time in the '80's.

Use isn't limited to Veterans nor is it intended to be. But no listing at City site regarding overnighting, so your best bet is to contact them directly and ask about that.

No over night parking at WalMart and as far as I know the parking that you see at the Armory is for special events only.
Just before you get to Medford at ext. 24 their is two RV parks, don't remember their names Google RV parks in Medford.
  • Thanks Roy.
    So, I guess not.
Good to know. Didn't know it was nation wide.

The Veterans Memorial Parks are all over the US to commemorate all veterans of all services in all the Wars, conflicts and peacekeeping missions.

Unless I was a VET I don't think I would want to use their facilities unless I was invited. They probably require an issued DOD CAC ID card to get in...

The same goes for many hospitals around the country that has RV setups for familys staying with their sick family members...

Being a 42year retired DOD employee which includes many years active duty as well I was issue a retired DOD CAC CARD which allows me to use the various MWR Military camp grounds around the country. Some of these places are very nice facilities. I always inform management that I am willing to leave those facilities at a moments notice if active duty members show up and the facility is full up. This has actually occurred on one or two times over the years and I am very proud to give up my spot for any active military needing to use to it...
