Medicare and traveling south
So, we'll be gone in November, like usual, but my husband turns 65 in December. Can we NOT be home? Do we have to stay home to get this all set up? :( I guess Part A is automatic when you turn 65?

Don't forget about your supplement (if that is something you're planning on.) Some will not allow you to be out of state for an extended time and still be covered. Others will require you to call in when you'll be out of network.
FWIW, park I was in this winter had a benefit for a US snowbird that didn't have a supplement. He had extensive rehab that Medicare did not cover. It drained his savings.
