Here in Michigan, we have a loophole in the emergency powers available to our Governor, and she has taken full advantage of this. The majority of cases center in the Detroit area, but the lock-step lock down strangles the whole state. It appears that Our Leader may be angling for a possible position in the next federal election.
Just MHO.
The ENTIRE southern part of the state as in south of the thumb are still very much hot beds and so is northern Illinois and Ohio. This stay at home policy does error on the conservative side but make no mistake our governor is looking out for you and the demands on our hospitals and medical staffing. If the self-righteous and greedy legislature had their way you would be in the bars and casinos now and the second wave could get its grasp and be far worse than the first.
I think from those that know her that this state is her passion and the people here. She is one with both feet on the ground and is far more intelligent than any past offerings I have known. (think Flint).
Are you taking about the “hotbed” that has been made up. Watch the video I posted of the head of public health for Chicago. On TV she said that if you are in hospice and have 2 weeks to live, and then you are tested positive for Covid that will be the cause of death! I had to watch the video twice. The numbers cannot be trusted and neither can the experts. They have an agenda and it’s not for the public! It’s about $$$
The death count dispute is a rabbit hole I refuse to follow you down. It's a shiny object being used to captivate the minds of the cognitively impaired and/or the dishonest. - azrvingExplorerInflated numbers
The same people that are bringing you the fear are not only selling you a vaccine but an continuous series of vaccines.
There is also a big difference in the numbers depending on how they count the deaths. There is a huge difference in dying FROM it or dying WITH it. They are paid $13000 for each positive diagnosis of cv and $39000 to be put on a ventilator.
FROM IT OR WITH IT
Tip of the iceberg?
Its all about how you count anything. A guy i worked with says he never gets the flu now that he started getting the flu shot. I said i never get the flu shot and i never get the flu. I said maybe you don’t get the flu because you quit smoking pot. He said pot doesn’t give you the flu, i said no but you were most often smoking pot with others who were also smoking pot with others so your potential contact with hundreds or maybe even thousands of people sure could get you the flu or any number of things.
There is no absolute positive scientific proof in either of our examples but what does your logic tell you. It all depends on how you count or measure anything. - TrekkarExplorer II

You have made your political leaning quite clear, and I disagree. Opinions should be encouraged on all fronts however, and I respect yours.

Then you can follow them to the “safe place they have for you”! History has shown that it’s been tried before with very negative effects to the people in hiding!
- doxiemom11Explorer IIWe are sitting in TX in our winter spot waiting to go to MI to our reserved seasonal site for the summer. We are inconvenienced and have had to change plans, but we fully support what the governor is doing. When it's safer, she will open the state, open camping and then we will go. It's really not a big deal to wear a mask when in an enclosed area or when you can't be 6' away from people. And for those with asthma -- lots of nurses have asthma too, and wear masks for 12 hour shifts. If they can do it - so can you!

Really. I am going on 80 with asthma and wore one all day yesterday with it in the 90s. Pretty poor excuse. If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem.
I don't wear a mask at home as there isn't anyone here but my wife. If I need to visit a neighbor I wear a mask. It is not a Michigan request it is an order.
As for all those "smart" people telling us to resist , defy the governor's order....... go back to your own states live it up crowd into those bars and beaches and casinos................... We will talk in a few weeks and see if that was a good idea but for te time being we'll do as our governor has mandated.
We don't like the stay at home order but she has been right all along and has been prudent in opening those low incident places.
We are Michiganders we have suffered through far worse than a stay home order! We do the right thing for each other and BTW over 70% are min favor of her handling of this horrible virus a far better percentile than the Washington leadership.
Bottom line we will camp dry and that way we will stay at national forests areas away from others. Go party if you wish just leave us out of it and wear a mask here, we will see if she is right or to conservative in a couple weeks, enjoy your experiment
