Michigan's Wilderness SP

Question

Anyone else get the e-mail today about a new campground at wilderness? Sounds kinda exclusive, a small number of "full" hookup sites on the beach.

Are the sites in the existing beachfront loop, or is there a new loop created?

A bit pricey IMHO at $45/night, since it doesn't include cable TV or WiFi... not full hookups in my book.

Reservations open tomorrow for the late June opening day. I'll try to book the weekend despite the price, I love that park.

Just looked at my email and I got it too. I assume these are new sites, as they're unobstructed. Older sites had a fair amount of trees and beach down to the water, iirc. I'm sure these will be quite popular. Good luck with your reservation.

I got the email also.  That's a hike for us to get up there.  We stayed there once and it was nice to see the bridge at night.  I read that they have full hookups at those sites because they don't have public restrooms/toilets.  I'm assuming its a new loop?

Lake Michigan is beautiful and all, but 45 is steep.

^^^^ Although, when you consider that Grand Haven is $33 per night, with nothing but electric, maybe it doesn't sound quite as bad. I think all of the sp's are north off $30 for electric only. THAT seems pricey to me. But I still pay it!  :)
