- 2gypsies1Explorer IIIHere's a good site for forest camping and it lists all in Gallatin N.F. We stayed at Red Cliff along 191 - very nice. Have fun!
Dow's Forest Camping Site - GeobikerExplorerThanks to all who responded. We have decided to get off Hwy 90 at Belgrade and follow 85, connecting to 191 toward West Yellowstone. We'll be staying a couple nights in the Galletin NF before heading into YNP. Thanks again
- IslandmanExplorer IIHeadwaters SP between Three Forks and Belgrade on I-90 is a nice place and quite historic as that's where Lewis & Clark Expedition stopped over 200 years ago on their way westward.
- MontanaCamperExplorerwe stayed in Henrys lake...very nice place and 20 min from the west of west yellowstone.
- n7bsnExplorerThere are few Montana State Parks, setup for power/water/etc, and even fewer county/town parks. None really convenient for your trip. Three-Forks SP, Lewis and Clark Caverns SP are the only two I can recall even on your route, and they are not real useful for visiting Yellowstone
If you are actually going into Bozeman, and have anyone with you that is Dino-nutz, the Museum of the Rockies is a must-stop (home to Jack Horner) - n7bsnExplorer

We went from Yellowstone out west side & rv park in Ennis, MT, then up to I-80 & westward. Nice park at Ennis, MT
I think you mean I-90 - CloudDriverExplorerFrom Bozeman, take route 191 to West Yellowstone. Nice drive, no mountain driving. If you don't actually need to stop in Bozeman, get off I90 at Belgrade and take route 85 to join 191.
We always stay inside Yellowstone, but the following get good reviews on the forum:

Will be traveling from Missoula to Bozeman and then on to Yellowstone in late July. Looking for suggestions on best route as well as RV camping along the way. Would prefer county or state parks with electric and water, but private RV parks would be okay too.
