Hey Huachuca will do! We do have a 2014 3500HD Silverado but thought it would be fun renting a jeep. We won't be out there till June 17th but if u see a black Silverado with indiana plates and pulling a grand design reflection give us a hey also.

Tara, as Tragusa3 mentioned, there are quite a few backroads that are interesting and navigable in a vehicle with reasonable ground clearance. We had several in our group who drove the Shafer Trail with 2WD's this past Spring. Having said that, we had a ball on more challenging trails in our 4WD Tacoma. Would have been even more fun if I'd had my jeep out there.

We're going back for six weeks this coming May/June. If you see a Green Tacoma with NC tags and/or a 19' Scamp, give us a holler.

While not a Jeep rental, we had a blast on side by side 4 wheeler rental at T-Rex tours We did the sunset tour.

You mention "easy backroads". With that, I might suggest using your tow vehicle if you have a truck. With a little research, it is doable to have a nice day of easy backroads without the rental cost. We had a great time doing just that. That said, purchasing a jeep has been on my mind for a year or two and I can't shake it. LOL.

I would guess they'd all give maps and guide you to places safe for you to go without a lot (or no) experience. They're not going to hand over the keys and just say "have fun" - which you will.

we went north out of town and left along the river then right turn on dirt road up through the canyon to dead horse point. From there back down to Musselman Arch and a few others then town. Left about 9 and back by 5. Perfect day.

Rented from CliffHanger in Oct. 2 door was 205+tax + 25 for tire Ins. Nice people and no hassles.
