Very beginning stages of planning a trip to Moab a year from now, September, 2017. Temps/heat in September? DW does not do heat. Or should we get there in early October? Campground recommendations...

We've traveled to Moab twice a year for a number of years. September is too hot. October is much better. Suggest about mid month. We stay at Portals in the resort/owners section. It is pricey, but worth it to us.
