If you are a fisherman and are going to be in the Butte/Anaconda area, give the Anaconda Settling ponds a go. It is part of the world's largest superfund site. The ponds were created to settle out heavy metals from runoff of the big ;mines. The area used to look like the surface of the moon (or at least the surface of the moon NASA created if they actually faked the moon landing) but now some vegetation is growing. The ponds grow some huge trout. One pond, in particular, the Hog Hole, is famous for it's monster rainbows. Lots upon lots of special regulations for the ponds. Special seasons, catch and release etc. Float tube or small raft can be a big bonus, but bank fishing is very accessible.
