OK folks ... let's take the mystery out. Here's a direct quote from the TakeMyTrip.com website clarifying how to slaughter the good old Spanish name "Moqui" when combined with digging into the side of a mountain. ;) :

"In case you're wondering about the Moki Dugway's strange name, here's the breakdown. A Dugway is simply a road that is dug out of a mountainside. "Moki" or "Mokee" comes from the Spanish word "Moqui" -- a name given to Indians by Spanish explorers during the 18th century. The Moki Dugway was built in 1958 by a uranium mining company, to move ore from Fry Canyon (on Utah Route 95) to Mexican Hat (at the southern end of Route 261)."

My error! I spelled it incorrectly.

I noticed and didn't care how you spelled it.

Because I knew what Renee meant. Plus search engines like Google are able to give suggestions for other spellings. Some of the most intelligent people I know can be the worst spellers. Tell it to my Apple platform as it is always wanting to correct my spelling of Color to Colour.

Actually, Gary, most of the stuff on the web calls it the Moki Dugway -- and yet here is the sign on the roadway itself:



So I just don't know!
