Mooresville Ind.

My Grandson will be playing travel Baseball next year and he has a tournament in Mooresville Ind, just wondering if anyone has suggestions for campgrounds in that area? He also has games in Noblesville Ind and Westfield Ind and Champaign Ill if anyone has any suggestions for any of these I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
Brent
  • There’s a forest preserve northwest of Champaign that has camping nearby. It’s near the town of Mahomet. I haven’t stayed there, but the forest preserve always looked pretty nice as I was passing by. There’s also a small campground north of town. I would check reviews on Allstays and look on Google Maps to help decide which is best.
  • Check out the White River Campground just east of Cicero, Indiana, it is a county park and I have stayed there at least a half dozen times. Jim.
  • Rantoul Illinois is about 20 miles north of Champaign and has a full hookup campground. South edge of town I 57 exit 250. In Mahomet Illinois there's a small campground called Tincup RV park off of I 74 at Prarie view road exit also right off of I57 exit 240 is D&W campground you can see this park from I57
  • We have stayed at Rantoul . It is a city park that is a previous military mobile home park. All sites are level with full-hookup. There is a building in the middle with laundry and private showers. Not a destination, but would be just fine for what you want. Everything was clean and well taken care of when we were there.
  • Stayed at Lake Haven Rv "Resort" south of Indianapolis on Hwy37. Due east of Mooresville. More than adequate. Avoid "Indy Lakes".
  • In Rantoul, I've stayed at Prairie Pines next to the closed Chanute AFB. It's okay for an overnight.

For the Mooresville, IN, area you're less than 35 miles from one of my favorite state parks, McCormick's Creek State Park in Spencer, IN. A little closer is Lieber State Rec area, another nice choice.

Straight south of Mooresville is the very popular Brown County State Park. Brown County is a touristy spot and is very busy in the summer.
