We are planning a trip to Mt. Rushmore this summer and would like a recommendation for a park to stay. We would like to stay at one park and travel around the area for about a week. 38' fifth wheel on...
Rafter Bar J just outside of Hill City. Centrally located to all the important attractions and within striking distance of Mt. Rushmore (e.g. Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Iron Mt. Road., the Needles, Sylvan Lake, the north-south bike path through the Black Hills, Custer State Park, etc.).
We stayed there 5 nights in September, 2016. Not inexpensive, but it is a beautiful, well maintained, quiet, relaxing place to camp. A great location. In the valley below the Harney Peak lookout.
