If you happen to pass near St. Louis I highly recommend City Museum. It's an old factory that's been converted into a unique experience...a life sized artwork that you can climb in and over, slide down, crawl thru. My 14 year old and I were going to stop for an hour just to see what it was like. Stayed six hours.
The Arch and the Museum of Westward Expansion beneath it are well worth a trip too.
