Now if you fancy crossing over the bluewater bridge come on over to Ontario.
You could do a wide southern circle, Toronto then north to North Bay, then head west through Sudbury and back into Michigan
Or you could cross into Saulte St Marie and head north to Thunder bay then Lake of the woods and back into the US.
Either way have so much to see and do, CN tower, Hockey Hall of Fame, Canada's Wonderland and the multiculturalism of Toronto. The beautiful lakes and coloured rock in northern Ontario. Gold mines, Amethyst mines, White moose at Foleyet or visit Lake Ivanhoe and take a flight in a Beaver aircraft over untouched lakes and land. (very reasonable rates)
I would suggest Northern Ontario as a place everyone should visit if they get the chance. Winter or summer.
Enjoy all you can with your kids, they grow too quickly.
