MYRTLE BEACH AFTER THE STORM

Plan to head south on Monday and 1st stop is MBTP. Friends told us the roads are clear but we are interested in the conditions inside the park. Phoned and they said things are ok for our stay, facebook has no park updates from RV'ers. Last year we called, same response and arrived to be flooded out . Anybody presently at mbtp. thanks Larry

The South end of the CG on the ocean front. Floods every high tide any way, or it did last time we were there
  • Some areas may not yet have power restored. Friends of mine living there said yesterday they still don't have it.
  • We have been at MBTP last 4 years in Nov. and have seen high tide surge. Park said they have power and clean up in progress, but any members presently at MBTP please give us a heads up. thanks
  • They could learn a lot from Ocean Lakes. OL was on the ball. They had heavy equipment there a day after the storm and kept us all posted on Facebook, with pictures. Check their Facebook page, where they have live web cams, where you can see that they are already rebuilding the dunes.

We were probably the 5th camper in when they opened Ocean Lakes after the storm. The work they were doing was nothing short of amazing. They definitely had their stuff together.

Got an email last night from our friends at MBTP.

They returned a week ago Friday to their trailer which is on a campsite. No damage whatsoever to their trailer or to any of our other friends' rv's. They said that the campground is pretty much back to normal and the beach was pretty much the same.
