- Ger_SueExplorerThank you for the information. Glad Myrtle Beach State Park was spared.
So sorry for the people affected by these hurricanes. - 2_RetiredExplorerNo significant impact from Irma in this area. Both state parks are fully operational, and I have not heard of any problems at the privately operated campgrounds. Farther south in SC, both Edisto Beach State Park and Hunting Island State Park were seriously hit and will be closed for the rest of the year.
- buckyExplorer IIThanks.
- HokiehallExplorerNo. I am at Myrtle Beach Travel Park on the north end of Myrtle Beach. Only beach erosion here.
- buckyExplorer IIDid you mean to say you were sitting on the beach at MBStatePark, not MBTP? The old MBTP is now a KOA and never had a beach.
- HokiehallExplorerI am sitting on the beach at MBTP as I write this. There was some beach erosion which looks like high tide will come all the way to the dunes. Dunes survived. Campground looks to be half full. We stay until the 23rd.
- Ger_SueExplorerHow did Myrtle Beach State Park make out, any damage from the storm surge?
- HokiehallExplorerI called MBTP this morning and they said they are not changing anything at the present time but are keeping an eye on the progress of the storm.
They told me to call again on Tuesday to see if I would be clear to come in on Wednesday. - TravlingmanExplorer II

My MIL and FIL are currently camping at MBTP now and they we told to be out of there by 10am Sat morning due to Irma
It must be a MBTP requirement as Ocean Lakes is saying business as usual. Calling for heavy rain Sunday night into Monday and some wind. They say they are monitoring as the storm path has shifted west and not as bad as predicted for them. - Bird_FreakExplorer IIMB is north east from the H in South Carolina. Jekyll and Saint Simons is east of the H in Ga.
