I think it's a great idea. We go to MB a lot, and those tent thingies are a nuisance. And we don't even stay out on the beach -- just go for walks throughout the day. I've seen people out setting them up before daybreak, claiming their territory. And most often it's a huge amount of territory for relatively few people--not one tent for a family of four, but three tents. Or more. I think of them as beach hogs. It's often like negotiating an obstacle course just to find a route to get around them to/from the access steps. The law will make the beach enjoyable for more people.
