FYI I just read that Myrtle Beach has followed North Myrtle Beach in banning tents on the beach, but took it a step further and apparently has banned the use of umbrellas also. I am not sure how...

I for one am glad they are banned. Not only are they unmanned most of the time but when people are there they are oftentimes out in the sun with their beach chairs not even using the 10x10 so they take up even more space on the beach. Horray for MB and hopefully Horry county follows suit in a few weeks. Can't wait for my 4 weeks at Ocean Lakes and not worrying about walking 1/2 mile down the beach for an access point to get in front of the row of 10x10's!!!
