We prefer the KOA as its not so sandy and no winds blowing sand into the RV. We have stayed at Lakewood and Ocean Lakes, but prefer the KOA. Some of the newer sites on the south side of the campground are very large with lots of mature trees on them. I am looking for a picture we took two years ago and when I find it I will send it on to you.

The sites I have stayed in at Ocean Lakes and Lakewood were not sandy. Matter of fact, only one site i've stayed in at Ocean Lakes was not paved. And generally those sites are a little further away from the ocean front sites.
And never had a sand blown into our RV ever. Still beats tryign to get in and out of the traffic there at Hwy 17 and also walking several blocks (1/2 mile or so) to the ocean (and crossing that busy road).
As hard as it is for you, and I to understand. There are people that don't go to the beach for the beach. They just don't like the beach. Me. If I can't walk out of my TT onto the beach, I'd just stay home, any thing else is a waste. But others just don't like the beach, but do go to Myrtle for some unknown reason. Why I'll never figure out.
